Festival Review: WOMADELAIDE (Day One) - Adelaide Botanic Gardens (06.03.15)

There's something about WOMADelaide that always gets me so excited. I was gutted to have missed out on the festival last year and as I took the short walk from my house down to Botanic Park, I could tell by watching the families and other people rushing through to the gates, that this was going to be another great year. The four day world music festival brings with it a bill of artists representing such a wide range of music and performance styles that it's near impossible to know every act on the line up. Which is no bad thing. Instead, you go along and discover some new favourites along the way.

Secret Garden Festival announces full line up for 2015!

The Secret Garden Festival recently dropped the news that it had completely sold out all tickets for the 2015 festival, which was only testament to the event's continued popularity and faith from the loyal public who've backed it for so long. Today, the Sydney organisers dropped the full line up of artists set to perform and man, is it impressive. Over 60 bands and DJs will play over four stages at Secret Garden, promising to be the biggest outing of the festival yet. Both international and Australian talent will be represented well at the event, so if you've managed to nab yourself a ticket, you're definitely in a lucky crop!

the AU interview: Sharon Van Etten (USA)

Ahead of her Australian tour next year, with visits to Golden Plains Festival, Womadelaide and the Perth International Arts Festival, we caught up with American singer-songwriter Sharon Van Etten to find out a bit more about her most recent album Are We There, her approach to songwriting, and her thoughts on touring Australia, and the Australian festival circuit.

Sinead O'Connor leads second WOMADelaide artist announcement!

The second WOMADelaide announcement landed today, further certifying the event's status as one of the premiere world dance and music gatherings in the world. Leading the second artist update is the Grammy nominated Sinead O'Connor, who will be bringing her new album I'm Not Bossy; I'm the Boss Down Under, as well as her acclaimed catalogue of music.

'A Festival Called Panama' returns for another year in 2015, with Sharon Van Etten, Ben Salter and more to feature!

Tasmania's A Festival Called Panama will be returning in March 2015 after a successful run earlier this year! Taking place in the gorgeous Panama Forest, the festival brought together a stunning landscape, a creative program and a wonderfully receptive audience. It's only logical that this same group of festival organisers would want to run it again! As it was in 2014, tickets for A Festival Called Panama will be quite limited, with only 1000 punters to pass through the gates.

Golden Plains line up to feature Sharon Van Etten, Something For Kate, Courtney Barnett and more!

Once again, Aunty Meredith delivers! Live Review: Southbound Festival: Day 1 - Sir Stewart Bovell Park, Busselton (04.01.13)

Another year, another Southbound Festival and despite predictions of the opposite, attendance was up on last year, with the vast majority of the attendees opting to camp on site for the weekends festivities. Though this years line-up may not have been at its most buzz-worthy, it was still a fine collection of acts over the two days, with just enough variety to keep everybody happy.

Sydney Festival Live Review: Sharon Van Etten - The Famous Spiegeltent, Hyde Park (06.01.12)

One of the highlights of the Sydney Festival every year are the string of phenomenal, intimate performances that take place in The Famous Spiegeltent in Hyde Park. Helping kick things off last night for 2013 was Brooklyn based talent Sharon Van Etten, who was using Sydney Festival to not only launch her first ever tour of Australia, but to bring to an end a very long touring cycle for her latest record Tramp.
