Regurgitator hit the Northcote Social Club for an amazing show on Thursday night. Rebecca Houlden was there and brings us these photos from the gig:
It’s hard to believe that it’s been an entire ten years since Aussie legends Regurgitator last set foot in University of Sydney’s Manning Bar, and quite frankly, it’s a combination that I need to see more of. The room was filled with thirty-something’s, re-enacting the last time they saw the band when they, presumably, were still in university.
After a two and a half year hiatus, Regurgitator has returned to the stage bringing their effervescent infectious energy with them. The Brisbane show marked their first stop of the tour, and it was like no time had passed at all!
Some well known and beloved Australian names are hitting the road as we wrap up on August and look ahead to September, while some international favourites will be returning with some killer sounds and chaotic live shows. Check out some of the spots the AU will be heading this weekend - from Megan Washington's date with the Northcote Social Club in Melbourne, to Dillinger Escape Plan's return to Brisbane, there's some great gigs happening!
After two years MIA, Australian house-hold names Regurgitator (you may remember them from every Big Day Out or every time you turned on Triple J in the early 2000s) are back this August with the national Cheap Imitations Tour. If you really miss that gritty, sun-bleached feeling of late '90s Australian rock and roll, don't miss Regurgitator's comeback tour this winter.
Regurgitator have added a list of extra shows as part of their 'Dirty Pop' tour in Australia, and some extra dates in Asia! These will definitely be the last shows in Australia for a long time, so if you previously missed out on tickets, don’t make that mistake again. Get yours now!
If you were a teenager in the mid to late 90's, you know how pivotal Regurgitator were to the Australian musical landscape. It was a time when alternative wasn't a dirty word and actually meant you were different to the mainstream. Regurgitator were the true alternative. With a range of musical styles and influences to draw from, catchy hooks and juvenile song themes, they were simply a fun band.
Ah, Regurgitator. 'The 'Gurge'. 'The fuckin' 'Gurge, mate'. Just a few of the names been thrown about The Gov on a Sunday night. The long weekend had clearly taken its toll on a few people straggling through the venue, but in all, the joint was filled out quite nicely for the Brisbane trio, who were bringing their "Dirty Pop Fantasy Tour" through the doors for the night.
Regurgitator played the Hi-Fi on Friday night with support from Wampire, Super Best Friends and Bruce. Gwendolyn Lee was there and brings us these photos from the pit.
Regurgitator, Bad//Dreams and Wampire rocked out The Gov in Adelaide on Sunday night. Chad Lofts took these photos..
Regurgitator return to Melbourne, bringing with them Sun God Replica and Wampires. Rebecca Houlden was there and brings us these photos from the night!
There is a magical time of the year, when all the stars align and the live music scene in Brisbane booms. This magical time of year is called BIGSOUND. Step 1: bring together industry gurus from all over the country and from across the seas and throw them together in a conference room for 4 days. Step 2: On the middle two nights, then bring them out for to party, and invite the people of Brisbane who love live music. Step 3: Watch the bliss unfold. This year BIGSOUND live boasted 120 acts over 12 glorious stages. This is a but snapshot of the two-night festival.
With BIGSOUND gearing up for what is going to be another successful run in 2013, we thought it'd only be beneficial to give you a comprehensive guide of what's set to go down, what we recommend catching and more - no doubt your schedules are already causing headaches from the amount of awesome individuals set to speak and perform.
Some of Australia’s top musicians are coming together to perform at a fundraising concert for Casey Tutungi. Casey Tutungi’s heartbreaking story has been heard across the country, after the 28-year-old had a football accident that resulted in spinal injury.
This week there's a whole heaps of big new music announcements, including albums from Katy Perry, Jason Derulo, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Kevin Devine, Ty Segall, Rainbow Chan, Regurgitator, The Jungle Giants and a whole heap more!
