Live Review: Abbe May + The Chemist + Mathas - Ding Dong Lounge (22.06.13)

Winter Solstice was tonight, but you wouldn’t think it when you headed into Ding Dong Lounge. Of course, the place was as warm as a piece of toast that made friends with a fireplace. Visually, the lounge looks like a plateau of couches straight from the 70s but it actually felt like a make believe sauna that had its controls set on ‘LOW’. The dichotomy of the conditions indoors and the conditions outdoors couldn’t have been more different. No one was really complaining however. As it turned out, the three Perth groups performing tonight would slowly transform the band room shift itself from the 70s to rollicking room of people who didn’t care what time it was.
