Celebrating World Record Store Day: the AU's 12 Hottest RSD Vinyl Releases for April 18th, 2015

This Saturday, April 18th, marks the world-wide celebration of World Record Store Day. The event, started six years ago as a means to celebrate the sale of vinyl music, last year boosted record sales to the highest they've been since the day's creation. This year, record stores the nation over are hosting celebratorial events, including live music, signings, appearances, giveaways and exclusive RSD releases. Below you can find a complete list of participating Australian venues.

BADBADNOTGOOD have cemented themselves as a creative force to be reckoned over the past couple years with their powerful fusion of instrumental jazz and hip hop. Ahead of the release of Sour Soul, a new collaborative album with Ghostface Killah, the AU Review had a chance to chat with Alex (drums) about recording in an analog studio, the happy marriage between jazz and hip hop and why Wu-Tang is forever.

Single Stream: Ghostface Killah & BADBADNOTGOOD Featuring Doom "Ray Gun" (2015)

Five musicians and one very soulful, drum-heavy blend of two distinctive styles in hip-hop. Wu Tang legend Ghostface Killah and underground hero DOOM have come together over this evolving, jazz soundscape from the very excellent BADBADNOTGOOD. Check out "Ray Gun", a track which could easily soundtrack the next James Bond clip and instantly turn the film franchise into a hood classic. The track is taken from Ghost and BBNG's collaborative album Sour Soul.

As one of the most animated and memorable emcees in hip hop history Ghostface Killah, a man known by many aliases, of legendary collective Wu-Tang Clan hit the Metro Theatre for his long overdue return to Australia, teaming up with co-headliner Pharoahe Monch for a strictly Australia-meets-NYC rap affair. To add some Aussie spice to the mix, accomplished emcee The Tongue joined the bill alongside up-and-comers Soul Benefits.

Ghostface Killah announces December tour across Australia and New Zealand!

Iconic hip-hop artist Ghostface Killah (of Wu-Tang Clan) has just announced that he will tour Australia and New Zealand this December to accompany his already announced appearance at Meredith Music Festival.

Ty Segall, Phosphorescent, Ghostface Killah and more join the Meredith Festival line up!

The Meredith Festival has once again made those who've entered the official ticket ballot incredibly hyped for the chance of landing themselves passes and everyone else who can't be at the December festival fiercely jealous, with the reveal of their 2014 artist announcement! Joining The War on Drugs is a line up of Australian and international artists Meredith describes as a result of 'dreaming longer', 'going further' and 'listening longer'.
