Eddie Perfect’s comedy The Beast to return with East Coast tour from July

The Beast, directed by Simon Phillips and written and starring Aussie comedian Eddie Perfect, has been announced to tour the East Coast of Australia from July. The show – Perfect’s first play – made its debut in 2013 at the Melbourne Theatre Company.

The play combines comedy with outrage, as Perfect delves into the ugly truths of organic, free-range trends in modern Australia. It brings to life Eddie’s true experience at a dinner party in Yarra Valley, where an Angus calf was purchased but the butcher hired was gruesomely injured in the preparation process, resulting in a bloody mess!

Eddie Perfect is well-known for his role in Ten’s Offspring as Mick Holland, and as a judge on Australia’s Got Talent. He has won several awards for his work, receiving stage credit from Baz Lurhman and Global Creatures’ Strictly Ballroom, and receiving the Helpmann and Green Room Awards for his solo music comedy shows Angry Eddie, Drink Pepsi Bitch and Misanthropology.

Tour Dates:
Sydney: Sydney Opera House, Drama Theatre,  27 July – 14 August
Melbourne: Comedy Theatre,  25 August – 4 September
Brisbane: QPAC, 15 – 18 September

Tickets cost $89.90 – $139.90, and go on sale Wednesday 18 May at 10am from thebeastplay.com
