Dead Letter Chorus announce a national tour

To mark the release of their long-awaited sophomore effort, Yearlings, this August 26th, Dead Letter Chorus announce select dates across the country in celebration. Kicking off this September 16th at Perth’s Speakeasy @ The Villa, the band will pay a visit to Melbourne’s Northcote Social Club on September 30th before a sure to be happy homecoming show at Sydney’s King X Hotel on October 1st. Dead Letter Chorus will round out the tour in style at Brisbane’s Old Museum on October 6th.

Yearlings, foreshadowed by the singles ‘Covered By Snow’, ‘Run, Wild’ and ‘Yellow House’ is a complex yet ultimately approachable offering from the Sydney five-piece. A raw song cycle detailing the highs and lows of a love affair, exploring familiar territory with profound insight. New love, contentment, rot, ruin, hope and all of their satellite emotions delicately weave and wind throughout this collection of sublime vignettes.

Recorded over eight months from May 2010 with Canadian producer, Les Cooper, Yearlings is the logical manifestation of Dead Letter Chorus’ continuing growth. Reveals guitarist/vocalist, Cameron Potts “With this album we really wanted to expose the core elements of the songs, the bare melodies that hold a song together.” As a result Yearlings is an elegantly constructed, devastatingly effective collection that resonates on multiple levels.

Already assured in their reputation as one of the country’s most engaging live bands, a gorgeous new album to share and a burgeoning fanbase Dead Letter Chorus are poised to move even further ahead of the curve this September/October.

Yearlings will be released on Friday the 26th of August through ABC Music and Universal Music.
