Okay, before I properly start this review, I have a confession to make: I really like City Riots. When I was about fourteen or fifteen, I saw them live with Cobra Starship and The Academy Is..., got their EP, and was pretty into them for the next little while – until my spazzy teenage brain hooked onto something else. Ever since then, though, they've been on my radar. So I was pretty excited to check out their album launch at The Promethean on October 26th.

Having released their much admired EP Matchstics last year, Adelaide quartet City Riots have taken the next step with their debut album Sea of Bright Lights .

This week we have new release news from The Rolling Stones, Swedish House Mafia, Woods, City Riots, Redcoats, Birds Of Tokyo, Coldplay and more! Check it all out below.

It’s an excellent night for some live tunes and what luck, my town’s own City Riots are launching their new single, “Wait For You” up at Rocket Bar on Hindley Street. At the moment, the temperature’s beginning to warm up and there’s a general festive vibe floating about the place – it’s like, with a simple hint of warm weather, the layers of winter clothing come off everyone, even if there’s still a chill in the air up on the rooftop bar.
After they performed an acoustic version of their latest single "Wait For You", we sat down with the Adelaide boys from City Riots to talk about the song, the upcoming album and what's in store for the rest of 2012...

We've got a huge update here, with about 50 releases getting mentions this week. There's literally something for everyone in this list, so take a look and see what catches your eye!
