Music Video of the Day: Bad//Dreems "Hiding to Nothing" (2015)

Adelaide's Bad//Dreems have dropped a new film clip for their latest tune in "Hiding to Nothing"! The first piece of new material the boys released off the back of their exciting bit of album news recently, the clip for "Hiding to Nothing" is dusty, it's rural and focuses in on the idea of breaking free from the shackles a hometown (a small one at that) can often stifle a person with. The landscapes featured in this one are probably as Aussie as you could get, though the sense of isolation that is instantly conjured makes the music video for "Hiding to Nothing" a good watch.

Adelaide rockers Bad/Dreems have been busy tinkering away in the studio with the legendary Mark Opitz (AC/DC, Cold Chisel, The Angels, INXS) and have come out swinging what is perhaps their best song to date. "Cuffed & Collard" is taken from the band's forthcoming debut LP and smashes rough and rugged garage rock on top of heartfelt vocals and a nice sense for melody.

Live Review: Sincerely, Grizzly + Bad//Dreems - Ding Dong Lounge, Melbourne (21.11.14)

Sadtime music certainly has made a comeback throughout the last year. The more heart wrenching the better seems to be the rule, with accolades going out to Sun Kil Moon's Benji, Perfect Pussy and Run the Jewels new albums and the increasing re emergence of emo in popular culture (as evidenced by almost everything I've written on this site) shows just how sad everyone's collective thoughts have become. So it's no wonder that the local scene have taken up this property. And last Friday I got the chance to witness one of the best in this scene; Adelaide's Sincerely, Grizzly.

Reflecting on The Aussie BBQ at CMJ 2014 in New York City!

Dear Australian Friends, Remember me? I'm your long lost Aussie lady who you used to love, who moved away four years ago and now knows nothing of the Great Southern Land. The country where I live now is strange. They don't even know how to make barbies. It's like, chuck some snags on there and they look at me like I'm weird and then suggest putting on shrimp. It's confusing.

the AU interview at BIGSOUND: Miles and James of Bad//Dreems (Adelaide) talk about Australian tours and their CMJ debut.

Miles and James from Bad//Dreems caught up with Larry at BIGSOUND earlier this month where they spoke about how they’re going on a little Australian tour before heading over to the US for CMJ. They are interested in how they will be received over there as Australians "because of Ivan Milat and Wolf Creek and stuff they think we’re a little bit weird".
