Photo Gallery: Lollapalooza Day One ft. Arctic Monkeys + Bombay Bicycle Club + Lorde - Grant Park, Chicago (01.08.14)

Our very own Perri Cassie is in Chicago for the annual Lollapalooza Festival, and brings us all the action of the first day, featuring Arctic Monkeys, Lorde, CHVRCHES, Bombay Bicycle Club, Temples plus Australia's own Vance Joy and Courtney Barnett - and more!

Festival Review: Lollapalooza (Day One) ft. Bombay Bicycle Club + Arctic Monkeys + Eminem - Grant Park, Chicago (01.08.14)

Walking into Grant Park, it really did hit me how large Lollapalooza is. We got a press release stating there was an expected 100,000 attendees through the gates over the three day event. Usually when you rock up to even the bigger Australian festivals (Soundwave, Falls etc), you get the impression you're in for a big time gradually over the day. Here, it was honestly like a good 40,000 people from all over the country and beyond were just transported and plopped down in the middle of downtown Chicago at 11am.

Festival Review: T in the Park (Day Three) ft. Arctic Monkeys + Tame Impala - Kinross-Shire, Scotland (13.07.14)

After a rainy day and night, the sun peered through the clouds in Scotland for the third and final day of T in the Park, which would see Arctic Monkeys close the festival's main stage in typically rockin' fashion, while Example, Disclosure and Sven Vath ensured there were ways to end the weekend for everyone. Earlier in the day, performances from Australia's own Tame Impala, Kaiser Chiefs, Australia bound Sam Smith, Metronomy, Jake Bugg and many more proved that the festival, the final ever to be held at the current venue, would be sent off with a bang.

It's Summer Up There! A Festival Guide on Lollapalooza 2014.

Lollapalooza, one of America’s biggest summer festivals, will be running again this August, and as per usual, it’s got a hell of a lineup. Rap god Eminem, will be joined by massive acts such as the reunited Outkast, Kings of Leon, Artic Monkeys and Lorde. The quality isn’t simply top heavy, with an array of impressive acts spreading all the way down the bill and even a few Australian acts will be flying the flag for us including Iggy Azalea, The Temper Trap, and Courtney Barnett.

Live Review: Arctic Monkeys + Pond - Brisbane Entertainment Centre (07.05.14)

"Alex, Alexxx, ALEXXXX!" - These words could just about sum up the Arctic Monkeys' gig at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre; such was the fervour reverberating around the arena for the band's singer, Alex Turner. The 28 year-old has an oddly powerful hold over his audience – boy and girl alike – as he struts and poses throughout, and the result is the loudest screaming this reviewer has ever heard in the venue. More on that in a second.

Sheffield's own Arctic Monkeys came to the Brisbane Entertainment Centre with a red-hot swagger and a set bursting with the hits and the new AM record, of course. Andrew Wade brings us these photos!

T In The Park continues to grow strong in 2014, with the likes of Tame Impala, Arctic Monkeys and more set to perform!

British festival T in the Park has brought a strong lineup for its 2014 run! The three day July festival still has more artist announcements to come, but the list of artists already name-dropped is impressive indeed. With the Tame Impala boys being the first Australians to be included on the festival bill (so far) this year, the festival will also be seeing some stellar international names coming through, including some who will be soon knocking on our doorstep in Arctic Monkeys, Ellie Goulding, Biffy Clyro and Disclosure.

New Music Video: Arctic Monkeys "Arabella" (2014)

Fresh from their multiple wins at this year’s BRIT and NME Awards, Arctic Monkeys share the video for their new single, "Arabella" directed by Jake Nava. Watch it HERE:

Album News Weekly: 9th January 2014.

In This Issue: Well hey there 2014! It's going to be hard to top 2013's magnificent output of music, but 2014 is certainly going to try. First up for the year: a few reissues of 2013 favourites (Disclosure, the Arctic Monkeys), and some brand new neo-soul in the form of Sharon Jones and The Dap Kings. Old alternative rockers Pixies have a new EP out, as well as Melbourne indie darlings Snakadaktal. Foster The People also release a trailer for their upcoming record, and a new voice in the shape of Aaradhna comes bounding across the Tasman. Get ready people, 2014 is going to be big.

Arctic Monkeys bringing "AM" to Australia in May 2014!

Cancel them out as Blur's replacement at the Big Day Out, because this morning it's been announced that the Arctic Monkeys are doing their own headline tour of the country in May next year! It's a tour many have been waiting for, especially with their latest album AM going down so well with the Australian public.

New Music Video: Arctic Monkeys - "One For The Road" (2013)

Continuing on with a decidedly more mature musical direction, the Arctic Monkeys have released their latest music video, this time for "One For The Road". Taken from their new album AM, the song is full of that dark, sexy broodiness Alex Turner reps in his vocals, with some great harmonies and bass lines.

The Festival Diaries: Austin City Limits (ACL) 2013 Day One ft. Depeche Mode + Muse - Zilker Park, Austin (04.10.13)

Another year and another Austin City Limits (ACL) Music Festival has come to an end. My second consecutive year at the event, it was a truly phenomenal weekend of music where I discovered new talent, caught up with some old favourites - and saw a few legends who I never thought I'd have the chance to see. Accompanied by a reported 75,000 other punters, this was a weekend gifted with great music, perfect weather and the smooth running good vibes that ACL is well known for.

Album Review: Arctic Monkeys - AM (2013 LP)

The Arctic Monkeys began their careers as twenty year old, pimply, British darlings in the eyes of fans and music cognoscenti. AM , their fifth release produced by James Ford is a testament to their ever evolving sound. It’s is a slick production, featuring simple effects imbuing each track with a pop quality that beckons repeat listens.
