Your wildest pop culture dreams are coming true at the Sydney Opera House with Bingefest

The Internet is coming this December.

From Harambe (RIP), Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Shia LaBeouf‘s weird but strangely addictive performance art, the Opera House will launch its inaugural BINGEFEST – a place for all meme-lovers, cat video addicts, and binge-watchers alike to celebrate the pop culture world we live in.

The two-day event will feature The Internet Cat Video Festival hosted by BuzzFeed, a TV writing panel featuring Community writer Dan Harmon, a Street Fighter tournament, and an exclusive participatory performance art piece (try saying that three times) by Shia LaBeouf and collaborators Nastja Säde Rönkkö and Luke Turner.

Other highlights include a Buffy marathon, a Beyonce dance class and a panel on the art of suspense in television.

No need to pinch yourself. This is all real.

Just in time for Christmas, BINGEFEST will run from the 17-18 December at the Sydney Opera House, and tickets go on sale next Friday 14 October.
