Thursday

Stephen Fry’s Key to the City, ABC, 9:21 pm AEST

Friday

Heart and Souls, Eleven, 7:30 pm AEST

While the premise of this movie is a little far-fetched (four people die in a bus crash and become spiritually connected to a baby who is born in that moment), Heart and Souls is sure to put a smile on your face. Starring Robert Downey Jr.

Saturday

Little Fish, SBS, 8:30 pm AEST

Starring the holy trinity of the Australian acting community (Cate Blanchett, Sam Neill and Hugo Weaving), this crime flick follows the journey of Tracy (Blanchett), an ex-heroin addict who becomes embroiled in a drug deal as she attempts to escape her past. A gritty, daring and well crafted Aussie flick.

Sunday

Gangs of New York, One, 9:30 pm AEST

Directed by Martin Scorsese, this historical drama follows the story of Amsterdam Vallon (Leonardo DiCaprio) as he returns to New York City seeking revenge on his father’s killer, Bill the Butcher (Daniel Day-Lewis). It may not be Scorsese’s best work but the chemistry between these two leading actors is simply fantastic.

LoudQuietLoud, ABC, 10:17 pm AEST

Focusing on one of the most influential rock bands of all time, this 2006 documentary details all the highs and lows of the Pixies’ 2004 reunion tour. From “Where Is My Mind” to “Gigantic”, this documentary is worth watching just to see the quartet belt out these hits.
