Watch: Dave Bautista debuts his Blade Runner 2049 character in new short film prelude

Blade Runner is returning to the silver screen with Blade Runner 2049 starring Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford, who will be reprising his role as Decker, the original film’s protagonist. But before it hits screens next month, we get to stick our teeth into a special short film prelude.

2048: Nowhere to Run stars actor Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy, Spectre) as the replicant human android known as Sapper, who we know will also appear in Blade Runner 2049. Sapper makes his way through the crowded streets of LA in a city that hasn’t changed much since 2019 and may have gotten worse. Sapper encounters multiple characters who we may or may not see in the latest Blade Runner film, and protects a young mother and daughter from a band of attackers, a chain of events making him a wanted felon. It’s very exciting to be back in this universe, but you can check it out for yourself below:

You can catch Blade Runner 2049 in theatres from October 6, 2017.
