US comedy duo Key and Peele’s new film Keanu drops its first redband trailer

Though relatively unknown in Australia, Key and Peele have one of the biggest comedy series in the US on Comedy Central and have become some of the country’s most popular comics.

Aside from their series, both actors – Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele – have appeared in TV series and films separately and in rare instances together (such as Fargo Season One), seemingly popping up in just about everything. But their first ever film collaboration is Keanu, and it will be released in Australian cinemas on 21st April 2016. To give us a taste of what to expect, today they’ve released the first international redband trailer.

The film follows two friends – Key and Peele – who hatch a plot to retrieve a stolen cat (“Keanu”) by posing as drug dealers for a street gang. The film also stars Jason Mitchell, Luis Guzman, Will Forte, Rob Huebel and rapper Method Man. Take Keanu Reeves from John Wick, replace the dead dog with a very alive cat, and replace Keanu Reeves with two comedians – and, well, you kind of have this film. Oh, and the trailer is hilarious.
