A trailer for The Walk, a new thriller starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, has been released.

The Walk, directed by Forrest Gump and Back to the Future director Robert Zemeckis, is the true story of a death-defying plot to complete a walk between the two buildings of the World Trade Centre. Philippe Petit (Gordon-Levitt), with the help of his mentor Papa Rudy (Ben Kingsley) and a band of international friends and collegues, attempts to execute his insane walk between the towers. The film is shot using Imax 3D technology, which is sure to make the sky-high thriller even more exciting. Those keen to know more about the story can also refer to the brilliant Oscar winning documentary Man on Wire (2008).

The Walk will be released in Australia on Thursday, 1 October through Sony Pictures Australia.
