Toby Jones joins Sherlock

The currently in production Sherlock season four will welcome Toby Jones to their next series, in a non-specified villain role.

The former Harry Potter and Captain America star will first meet Sherlock in the second episode of the upcoming fourth season.

Writer and executive producer Steven Moffat has expressed his optimism, saying “Delighted to have Toby Jones on board, bringing to life one of Doyle’s finest villains.”

Jones’s first episode will be directed by Nick Hurran who was responsible for the third season finale, which went on to receive an Emmy nomination.

Speculations have begun about the role Jones will fulfill; with many claiming he might have a connection to Sherlock’s antagonist, Moriarty. Viewers, unfortunately, will have to wait until December 2016 to find out.
