The Sydney Film Festival announces 2018 dates

The Sydney Film Festival returns once again to celebrate its 65th anniversary, taking place from the 6-17 June, 2018. The festival aims to bring the world’s best and newest films to Sydney over a 12 day period complete with premieres, talks, parties, director and actor guests and much more.

Over 250 films from all over the world will screen at the festival alongside various free and ticketed talks and parties fleshing out the festival experience. Over 150 guests will attend, based both locally and internationally ranging from directors and actors, to industry professionals.

The Festival takes place across various locations within Greater Sydney such as the State Theatre, Event Cinemas George Street, Dendy Opera Quays, Dendy Newtown, Randwick Ritz Hayden Orpheum Picture Palace Cremorne, Art Gallery of NSW, Casula Powerhouse, Skyline Drive-In Blacktown, the Festival Hub at the Sydney Town Hall and SFF Outdoor Screen in Pitt Street Mall.

Sydney Film Festival Director Nashen Moodley commented on the event, stating “2018 is already shaping up to be another incredible year for Sydney Film Festival. Audiences will dive into 12 days of cinematic splendour, both world class features and fascinating documentaries plucked straight from Cannes, Sundance, Berlinale, and many more prestigious festivals on the international circuit.”

While the first title in this year’s program will be announced Wednesday 4 April, a full festival program will be revealed to the public sometime in May.
