Ten of the greatest Seinfeld moments.

seinfeld (640x422)

Recently celebrating the landmark sitcom’s 25th Anniversary, the world has begun to reflect on Seinfeld, a show which has had an unparalleled impact on popular culture. The ‘show about nothing’ got off to a lukewarm start in it’s beginning seasons, but ended with an entire globe of TV addicts in tears as the show came to a close at the end of it’s ninth season in 1998. With so many unforgettable moments, it’s often hard to pinpoint any definitive list. So rather than zone in on the ‘best’ Seinfeld episodes, we are just here to recall 10 of the many greatest moments this show has given us.

Kramer and the Pig Man

“The Bris”

A wrong turn at a hospital has Kramer unsurprisingly stealing the show, stupidly stumbling upon a “fat little mental patient” and shooting off onto a quest to find the origin of militant pig warriors. Don’t you just love him?

George: Marine Biologist?

“The Marine Biologist”

George’s web of ridiculous lies often strangles him, but here he find a way to turn it into one of his greatest achievements. While he may not be the world’s greatest storyteller, the scene at the episode’s end, where he recounts his comedy of errors to Kramer, Elaine, and Jerry, is undoubtedly one of the series’ most hilarious scenes.

Basco

“The Secret Code”

Chemical bank gives the best relationship advice, according to George. It takes the death of J Peterman’s mother to pry ‘Basco’ from George’s tight lips, even Kramer’s excellent detective work couldn’t work that one out.

Hello, and Welcome to Movie Phone.

“The Pool Guy”

Kramer does phone self-service voices so well, but he doesn’t really think ahead. You can’t blame the man for trying though, even if his idiocy sends George on a bit of an embarrassing goose chase.

Elaine > Soup Nazi

“The Soup Nazi”

What’s the deal with soup? When one of the most memorable guest characters puts a dent on Elaine’s pride, she shows no mercy in destroying him. NEXT!

Jerry Seinfeld: World’s Most Sensitive Guy

“The Cigar Store Indian”

Jerry is the master of bad timing and poor taste, so when he visits Elaine to gift her an offensive cigar store Indian, right in front of her Native American friend, he ends up with a lot to apologise for. Unfortunately for him, misunderstandings tend to snowball on Seinfeld.

Kramer Undercover

“The Sniffing Accountant”

The best Kramer moments usually come when he’s trying to act like someone else. In this case, he is a swish sweater-wearing cat who likes to live life dangerously, undercover to confirm that a certain sniffing accountant is on drugs.

Lt. Bookman

“The Library”

Phillip Baker Hall is one very zealous book cop, parodying real-life jokes, such as the ever-important ticket inspector, with a brilliant guest performance.

Dr Van Nostrand

“The Slicer”

Dr Van Nostrand is a juilliard trained dermatologist who has a thing against betraying trust, but he has no problem using a deli slicer to treat a patient. Dr Van Nostrand is also Kramer.

Dark and Disturbed

“The Visa”

Jerry can’t not be funny. Even when he’s giving the most depressing monologue of all time.
