SXSW Interview: Vera Farmiga talks Boundaries with Writer/Director Shana Feste and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II teases Aquaman

At the 2018 SXSW premiere of Boundaries, Larry Heath caught up with Vera Farmiga and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, as well as the film’s writer/director Shana Feste to talk about the movie and its impact on each of the crew members.

The film, in its world premiere at the event, touches on the struggles of family, drugs and animals as a single mother embarks on a journey to drive her estranged father down to live with her sister.

Vera Farmiga spoke about the struggles her character faces on coming to terms with the dysfunctionality of her parents, asking “can you name one family that isn’t dysfunctional?”

Director Shana Feste comments on how the film holds dear to her heart, and the casting choice of Christopher Plummer as the father (as well as the rest of the on screen talent).

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, soon to be known for his role in Aquaman gushed about Australia, as well as talking about his character in Boundaries, its themes, and the cast he worked with.

Boundaries had its world premiere screening at SXSW.
