Supernatural gets renewed for a record breaking 13th season

Fans of the popular CW series Supernatural – which launched with the network back in 2006 – will be ecstatic at today’s news that the show will be returning for a record breaking 13th season later this year. It’s the only original scripted show that still airs on the network from its original roster.

The announcement was made today ahead of the Golden Globe Awards during the CW’s 2017 Television Critics Association Press Tour in Pasadena by CW boss Mark Pedowitz, who joked, “I was hoping for a bat mitzvah this year, the 13th season.”

He also suggested the show has a lifespan beyond this season, “Look, I said this ad infinitim, as long as it’s performing and the boys want to do it and I’m sitting in this chair, the show has a long life.”

The network also announced that their run of DC series Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow have all earned new series, as has Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Jane The Virgin.

Supernatural airs on Channel Eleven, and alongside most of the CW roster in Australia on FOX8.
