President Snow Addresses Panem in New Hunger Games: Mockingjay Propaganda Video

In a particularly clever marketing ploy, the advertisements for the third instalment of The Hunger Games franchise are going far beyond stock standard trailers and movie posters. Instead, an immersion tactic has been employed by releasing propaganda posters that address the fictional citizens of Panem. In these posters, different districts are “saluted” in an attempt to secure their loyalty to the Capitol.

The most recent addition to the faux propaganda is a video starring President Snow where he spouts random synonyms for ‘loyalty’ and ‘togetherness’, with just a hint of threat, in an attempt to quell any rebellion. It’s all quite reminiscent of Adolf Hitler (albeit, a less passionate one) until a familiar, glassy-eyed, face appears beside him. This is likely to stir the hearts of all viewers, regardless of whether they have read the books or not. I can guarantee goosebumps. View it here:

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 is set to be released in Australia on November 20 through Village Roadshow
