Premieres, Pixar and Patrick Swayze light up the national Moonlight Cinema program for 2015/16

Summer marks the start of Moonlight Cinema and the December and January programs for capital cities have been announced and are on sale now.

Moonlight will present advanced outdoor screenings of over 15 films across Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide from 3rd Dec, Perth from 5th Dec, and Brisbane from 16th Dec. 

Premiers include screenings of Suffragette in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide, plus Joy starring Jennifer Lawrence, Sisters with Amy Pohler and Tiny Fey, and Leonardo DiCaprio’s new film The Revenant. 

Younger audiences will be catered to with screenings including The Good Dinosaur and Goosebumps, starring Jack Black, while those who love their classics will get to watch some iconic film such as Dirty Dancing, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and Grease Sing-a-long.

Doggie Nights also returns this year, with four dog-friendly films across the festivals program. Moonlight Cinema is BYO but a fully licensed bar will be available, along with food trucks, assisting in an improved foodie focus that will see some new high quality eats on the menu including nutella donuts and fried chicken burgers.

Brisbane: New Farm Park at Brisbane Powerhouse, Dec 16 – March 6

Melbourne: Central Lawn at Royal Botanic Gardens, Dec 3 – March 27

Perth: Kings Park and Botanic Garden, Dec 5 – March 27

Sydney: Belvedere Amphitheatre in Centennial Park, Dec 3 – March 27
