Our first look at Matt Damon in Jason Bourne dropped during the Super Bowl

Among many trailers to premiere today during the Super Bowl was our first look at Matt Damon’s fourth turn as Jason Bourne in the arguably lazily titled Jason Bourne.

The 30 second clip did everything that a first film teaser should do – spoils little of the plot, but get’s us pretty excited about its release. So, what can we take away from the brief trailer? Well, it seems that Bourne has been busy in Fight Club since we last saw him – but Julia Stiles is still around! And now he has Tommy Lee Jones to deal with – and you know Tommy isn’t going to be happy about anything that’s going on in this film.

The film is technically the fifth film in the franchise, with Damon stepping down ahead of The Bourne Legacy, seeing Jeremy Renner take over – not as the titular character, but as a new character existing in Bourne’s universe. Damon always said he’d only return to the series if director Paul Greengrass did as well – and that’s exactly what’s happened here. All in all, it seems we’re shaping up for another solid Bourne action flick – hopefully with less over-the-top and unnecessarily shaky cameras.
