If you’ve been missing your quintessential Australian comedy from your life, fear no more – there’s a new Australian comedy about to hit your screens on February 24 via ABC2 – Maximum Choppage.

Fans of the classic Aussie series, The Moodys will eat this up – it stars not one, but two cast members of the show. But don’t be mistaken – for this is no simple replica. Watchers won’t be let down – whilst Maximum Choppage holds that quintessential Australian humour, it presents it in a way that is refreshing and entirely different to what you’ve seen before.

Maximum Choppage follows the life of Simon Chan’s (Lawrence Leung) return to Cabramatta after years abroad training in a martial arts temple. Except he wasn’t exactly doing that – he was at art school in Melbourne. In a time where Cabramatta needs a hero – they got Simon, Egg (Dave Eastgate), and Petal (Stephanie Son).

Check out the trailer below.

Maximum Choppage is a six-part series that is premiering on ABC2 on February 24, 9:00pm AEDT. It is directed by Craig Melville and written by Lawrence Leung, Duncan Sarkies and Josh Mapleston.
