Netflix plans to launch Women’s Wrestle comedy GLOW

Netlix and Orange is the New Black’s creator Jenji Kohan will be teaming up together to introduce a ten-episode series inspired by the real story of the female wrestling league.

GLOW (Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling) is a remake of the original 1980’s TV series of professional women’s wrestling.

In the new version, the show will follow the story of an out-of-work LA actress who makes one last attempt to live out her dreams in a weekly series about female wrestlers.

Furthermore, Kohan will be bringing back OITNB alumni producers Carly Mensch and Tara Herrmann for GLOW, with Homeland’s Liz Flahive on board as well.

The original series ran for four seasons consisting of 104 episodes.

No word yet on when we’ll be able to binge-watch the rebooted series.

Jenji Kohan will be coming to Australia this month for one of Vivid Ideas’ “Game Changer” Talks.
