John Wick returns with sequel John Wick: Chapter Two in 2017

Keanu Reeves’ hit action flick John Wick will be making its return with a sequel titled as John Wick: Chapter Two, announced to make its debut in cinemas on 10 February 2017.

Chapter Two will be greeted with familiar faces with Keanu Reeves, John Leguizamo, Ian McShane, Bridget Moynahan and Lance Reddick returning to their original roles. Chad Stehelski, co-director of the original will also be returning to the director’s seat for the sequel.

Newcomers Ruby Rose, Peter Stormare, and Common will be joining the cast. In addition Laurence Fishburne will be making an appearance with a small role, reuniting him with Keanu Reeves since they both starred in the Matrix films together as Neo and Morpheus.

Exhibitor Relations broke the news of the release date on Twitter, additionally teasing that the film’s action was leaving New York and making its way to Rome where Wick would be kicking “Italian ass”.

John Wick, a surprise hit in cinemas took revenge flick to new levels. The first film revolved around John, infamous assassin exacting revenge onto the Russian Mafia after they killed his beloved dog.

In the next installment Keanu Reeves teased that there would be an identity crisis occurring between John, the married man whose wife just passed away, and John Wick the mythical assassin. Reeves said that “John Wick’s past comes and infiltrates John’s life and John Wick, in a way, has to fight for John.”
