Hugh Jackman returning to Australia for Eddie the Eagle premiere

Dexter Fletcher‘s Eddie The Eagle, starring Hugh Jackman and Taron Egerton, will premiere for Australian audiences this March with Jackman set to walk the red carpet.

Two screenings are currently listed with Melbourne audiences able to see Jackman and the film on the 29th of March at 6PM at Village Cinemas Crown and Sydney getting a screening of its own on the 30th at 6:15PM at Event Cinemas Bondi Junction.

Inspired by true events, Eddie The Eagle follows Michael “Eddie” Edwards (played by Egerton), an unlikely but courageous British ski-jumper who, with the help of a rebellious and charismatic coach (Jackman), takes on the establishment and wins the hearts of sports fans around the world at the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics.

Eddie the Eagle will release in Australian cinemas on April 21st 2016.
