Grant Gustin and Nick Robinson set to star in William H. Macy’s indie feature, Krystal

Following his breakout role as the titular hero in CW’s The Flash, Grant Gustin has signed on to what will be he first feature role.

Alongside Nick Robinson (who you may recognize as the older of the two brothers in that underground Chris Pratt flick, Jurassic World), Gustin will star in director William H. Macy’s indie feature, Krystal.

Penned by Will Aldis, the film will follow a young man (Robinson) who has never had a drink in his life. Upon meeting the woman of his dreams – an ex-hooker, stripper, junkie and alcoholic, who makes Love’s Mikey Dobbs sound pleasant and stable – pretends to be a recovering addict in an AA program, in order to woo her.

Gustin and Robinson are additions to an existing cast that includes  Felicity Huffman, T.I., Kathy Bates and John Leguizamo and the film is being produced by Dallas Buyers Club producer Rachel Winter and Dan Keston, who, according to Variety, have been developing the project since 2002.

Krystal will be Macy’s third turn in the director’s chair, following The Layover and Rudderless.

Shooting begins in Atlanta next month.
