Exclusive Interview: Jim Beaver chats about playing Bobby Singer on Supernatural; looks to Season 11 and beyond

We caught up with Jim Beaver – best known for his role as Bobby Singer on the long running series Supernatural. While he was in Australia for Oz Comic-Con last month we caught up with the actor to talk about the series, his experiences to now and we look ahead to Season 11 and beyond!

Jim exclaims you can’t beat the series Supernatural with a stick, and happily says you can’t find shows “that generate a convention of fans like fantasy or science fiction has.”  His reprising lead role as Bobby Singer on the long-running TV series defeated his initial expectation of 1 episode or even 1 season.

His involvement in season 11 of Supernatural  is at the most, vague and unforeseen due to the undisclosed ending of Bobby Singer. He enjoyed the most about the series is “the cast and crew… it’s very bonded and loose and funny. It’s a little like being in a fraternity except we get work done.” In remarkable tests of time, the light hearted tone between cast and the camaraderie does make him miss the set.  Having developed strong friendships with the crew he misses the party and is disappointed that he wasn’t on the show as frequently. He enjoys returning to set despite having more freedom to do other work. For the full interview, check it out below.
