Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind TV Series in the Works

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the production company behind Mr. Robot and True Detective, Anonymous Content, could be producing the next big film to small screen adaptation, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

The Oscar Award-winning sci-fi rom-com is reportedly being placed in good hands with Anonymous Content’s True Detective executive producer Richard Brown. Still in its early stages, the drama has yet to receive an official screenwriter, however, Zev Borow (Forever, Chuck) is said to be nearing a deal to pen the adaptation.

Directed by Michel Gondry, the 2004 film starring Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet received widespread acclaim for its original story line, taking home the Academy Award and BAFTA award for best screenplay. The story follows Joel Barish and Clementine who decide to erase their memories of each other when their relationship turns sour.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind joins a long list of films reportedly being adapted for the small screen, including, Divergent, Friday the 13th, Shutter Island, and another Jim Carrey favourite – The Truman Show.
