The St Kilda Film Festival has announced an exciting preview of its lineup, with more to come in late April. The festival itself runs from the 19th to the 28th of May.
The four programs announced are as follows:
Fandor International Showcase
Joined by special guest Johnathan Marlow, who is from the American subscription FANDOR and himself renowned for his cinematography, film producing, and filmmaking efforts. He’ll be showing off some of the award-winning films and documentaries that FANDOR has to offer.
Lost Laughs From The Past
Exactly what it sounds like, this collection of vintage comedy is being presented by the National Sound and Film Archive (NSFA). The David Sheppard classic Terror Lostralis is headlining this branch of the festival.
Indigenious Short Film Retrospective
This special event will bring together short films by key indigenous directors like Tracey Moffatt, Warick Thornton alongside musician Richard Franklin.
“It’s important to highlight our Indigenous and overseas contributors among our emerging and established talent” said City of Port Phillip Mayor Bernadene Voss.
Palm Springs International Shortfest
A specially-curated board of films from 2015 Palm Springs International Shortfest, this showcase will close out the festival on Saturday 28th May. The award winning Swiss short film Discipline is expected to debut.
The St Kilda Film Festival is produced and presented by the City of Port Philip and is the longest running short Film Festival in Australia.
