You can now buy movie tickets and snacks using Qantas Frequent Flyer points

Qantas’ Frequent Flyer program and Hoyts have partnered on a redemption program that will allow Aussie locals and visitors to use their points at Hoyts cinemas to purchase movie tickets and snacks. In addition, members of Hoyts Rewards and the Qantas Frequent Flyer program will be able to earn points when catching a film.

QFF members will be able to trade as few as 4,000 Qantas Points in order to $20 worth of discount off each transaction of tickets or candy bar treats, whether its in the cinema or online. Similarly, members of Hoyts Rewards who also register their QFF number to their account will be able to earn points based on how much they spend, with Hoyts Bronze members earning 1 Qantas Point per $2 spent and Hoyts Silver members earning 2 Qantas Points per $1 spent.

“We’re all used to scanning our debit or credit cards to make payments at the checkout so it makes sense that Qantas Frequent Flyers want to use their membership cards in the same way”, offered Qantas Loyalty CEO Lesley Grant. “Going to the movies is a popular activity among our members so partnering with Hoyts to let them simply scan their card at the counter and redeem their points for movie tickets or treats will make their cinema experience not only fun but great value”.

Hoyts owns around 430 cinema screens across Australia and New Zealand. For more information about the partnership click HERE.
