The Death Star Canteen is coming to Queen Street in May (Brisbane)

English stand-up Eddie Izzard once famously joked about what Death Varder and the stormtroopers would eat on board the iconic Death Star from Star Wars. In a routine titled Death Star Canteen, Izzard laid out a vision of sandwiches and coffee in a galaxy far, far away, not knowing that in 2016 the man behind Brisbane coffee cart Glen’s EspressoGlen Morris – would turn that joke into a reality. That’s right, there’s now a Star Wars themed canteen coming to Brisbane’s Queen Street with a self-service approach to food and drink using the same honesty box till system pioneered at Glen’s Espresso.

Scant details are available about this new opening, but there’s now a fresh Facebook page indicating that Death Star Canteen will be launching on May 4th, of course.

Death Star Canteen will be available at 359 Queen Street, Brisbane.
