Ten-day Orange Wine Festival returns this October (Sydney)

The Orange Wine Festival returns October 13th for ten days to celebrate the regions cool climate wines. The festival will showcase vineyards and cellar doors from the Orange region while also highlighting restaurants and produce form the area.

Orange is a three and half hour drive from Sydney located in the Central Wesy of New South Wales. At an elevation of 600 to 1000 metres, it is the highest wine-growing region in Australia and is becoming known as the premier cool climate wine region of New South Wales.

Wine lovers can expect events like Wine in the Vines, a day long wine discovery with lunch through vineyards and cellar doors, the Orange Wine Show, with tastings and masterclasses on regional characteristics. Over 50 food and wine stallholders will showcase their products at the Wine and Food Night Market held in Roberston Park. There are also indigenous cultural experiences, special dinners and lunches, food workshops, live music and family-friendly events.

Destination NSW Chief Executive Officer Sandra Chipchase hopes to boost to the local economy while providing a unique opportunity to taste some of Australia’s best wines and fresh produce.

“The Orange Wine Festival is proudly supported through our Flagship Event Fund which supports events in regional NSW that have the potential to become key tourism events by attracting overnight visitation,” Ms Chipchase said.

For the second year in a row the festival is launching the Vino Express. Departing from Central Station on Friday October 20th and returning on the Sunday evening, allowing patrons to enjoy a stress free weekend in Orange. The Vino Express package includes access to two nights accommodation, a sparkling wine breakfast and behind the scenes wine tastings as well as the Wine in the Vines experience.
