Rosebery precinct Saporium has just welcomed a new artisan bottle shop going by the name of The Drink Hive, a new offering from two industry experts, that is Mal Higgs and Gregoire Bertaud, with designs on changing the way we buy alcohol through sustainable practices and through working with local artisan alcohol brands. This means that The Drink Hive’s stock will be across a range of hand-selected boutique brands and that the space will feature Sydney-first refillable beer and wine stations, encouraging people to recycle their old bottles and reduce their impact on the environment.
“We’re excited to offer Sydney a local and sustainable approach to craft alcohol products at a price affordable to everyone”, said Bertaud. “The Drive Hive will specialise in products that reflect an increasing demand for authenticity and that bring a positive impact to producers”.
The exciting refill stations will rotate regularly, presenting customers with an ongoing choice and access to the shop’s various boutique producers. The shop’s interior has also been designed as an eco-friendly space with reusable tote bags by Liminal.
A schedule is being planned that will include The Drink Hive bringing in various guests to Saporium’s regular Saturday Markets, as well as hosting some masterclasses at the precinct’s VIVE Cooking School, all of which will echo the businesses key principles.
