Swig & Nibble to make Australian debut at Polperro Wines with Michelin trained chef (VIC)

A “Swig & Nibble” may sound like a modest night out but this outdoor dining series, held over three days on the lush grounds of Polperro Winery, sounds like a feast. After seeing success in Manila, Ubud, and Jakarta, the concept event by Bali’s Cuca Restaurant will be making its exclusive Australia debut at the Red Hill property, hosting six events from 7th to 9th October of this year.

Michelin trained chef Kevin Cherkas (formerly of the legendary elBulli) is flying down from Cuca for the event, taking up a short residency at Polperro Bistro to work with winemaker Sam Coverdale to offer the public a unique culinary experience on the Mornington Peninsula. Diners will be taken through the flavours of nine specially crafted signature bites, all of which have been paired with Sam’s Polperro and Even Keel wines.

“After nailing a few events with some top Australian winemakers and chefs, I have this wild idea of collaborating with Cuca, a restaurant that blew my socks off in Bali”, said Coverdale. “Before I knew it we’d locked in this amazing Michelin-star trained chef and were flying them over to Polperro to showcase this incredible event”.

Local Mornington Peninsula produce will be used to help bring these dishes to life, with an emphasis on showcasing ingredients from local farmers and growers.
