SoCal heat things up with a “Cali Tequila Shack” and chilli eating competition (Sydney)

Applejack Hospitality’s popular Neutral Bay small bar SoCal will spice things up in March when they team with Olmeca Altos Tequila to launch an outdoor ‘Cali Tequila Shack’, which will be showcasing a range of the brand’s Tequilas including Plata and Reposado Tequilas, and Avion Espresso throughout the month. The launch of this new feature will be accompanied by a good ol’ fashioned chilli eating competition, set for Tuesday 1st March, kicking off at 7pm.

SoCal are calling on 20 contestants to take place in the chilli eating comp, which involves eating 6 chillies with increasing heat, each in 30 seconds or under. The champion will be rewarded with a $250 SoCal bar tab, a bottle of Olmeca Altos Tequila, a selection of the bar’s special hot sauces by Marie Sharp, and will have their name engraved on the first ever “SoCal Chilli Eating Trophy”.

Following the fiery showdown, the Cali Tequila Shack will be open from Wednesday to Friday from 5pm, as well as Saturdays and Sundays from 3pm. Every Saturday from 3pm will also see free Olmeca Altos tastings, plus the team will be serving Tequila flights Wed-Sun for $20 each, featuring two different types of Olmeca and Avion Espresso.
