Rutherglen to host winter wine bar laneway pop-up in Melbourne

The winemakers of Rutherglen are bringing a pop-up wine bar to Melbourne CBD, shaped into the narrow Driver Lane for three days (Friday 25th to Sunday 27th August). Aimed at highlighting the essence of wines made in the iconic Rutherglen region of Victoria, the one-off pop-up will offer locals and visitors the opportunity to taste and learn more about the region’s unique varietals and its winemakers.

They’ll be going full “winter wine bar” with this one, decking it out with fairy lights, wine barrels, Australia foliage, communal furniture, and even a mock cellar door with a few live acoustic performances from local artists. Many winemakers will be on-hand to takes guests through selections of wines, focusing on Durif and Muscat. The pop-up menu will even feature a range of Muscat cocktails, used in coolers, sangria and espresso martinis.
