RivaReno opens a gelato parlour in Barangaroo (Sydney)

RivaReno Gelato, the award-winning Italian gelateria first based in Darlinghurst, has opened a new store in Sydney’s rapidly expanding Barangaroo precinct. With a commitment to serving authentic Italian gelato and imports its single origin Valrhona chocolate, caramelized pecans, mascarpone, pistachios, hazelnuts and almonds from Italy directly, the brand seeks to expand on their popularity down at The Street of Barangaroo, which has come with their modest water-side gelato cart.

The company was first established in Italy by four friends, who shared a passion for quality Italian gelato. In 2013, they partnered with Kieran Tosolini in Sydney, and opened their first store in Darlinghurst. To coincide with the new opening at the Barangaroo location, RivaReno will also be unveiling the new look of the freshly-renovated Darlinghurst store, now constructed of dark oak and imported Italian Carrara marble. Both stores are fitted with large steel containers called “pozzetti”, which are set deep inside the counter so as to maintain the gelato at an ideal temperature. The stores are also designed to enable the team to continually make gelato throughout the day, in several small batches. This ensures that the gelato at RivaReno, which contains no preservatives, anti-oxidants or hydrogenated fat, is kept fresh and soft.

Tosolini is “thrilled to be expanding RivaReno Gelato to Sydney’s most exciting food hub, Barangaroo. The Australian market is so discerning when it comes to gelato, and we look forward to delighting even more customers with our authentic Italian flavours”.
