QT Sydney welcomes all-day French bistro Parlour

Award-winning boutique QT Sydney already has one of the city’s best restaurants in beloved Italian-accented grill house, Gowings, but the eccentric property is clearly not done with revolutionising the city’s hotel dining scene.

The low-lit and intimate street-level cafe that was once known as Parlour Cucina has now relaunched as Parlour, a sultry all-day Parisian bistro in the heart of the city helmed by chef Sean Connolly.

Considering Connolly is responsible for giving Gowings a new lease on life, his work at Parlour is greatly anticipated. He’ll work alongside head chef Kenny Radegonde, who has come over from Merivale’s Felix and has worked up a menu with highlights like escargot with smoked ham, pea puree and garlic Pernod butter, and steak Hache à Cheval made with wagyu brisket with frites, fried egg and pepper sauce.

A late-night supper menu switches it up with the likes of raclette cheese and confit duck jaffle with garlic butter jus and comte crisps.

Wine lovers get a nod with Old World French drops sitting on a list alongside New World order of contemporary Australian wines. That’s a total of over 350 bottles ranging emerging stars and avant-garde producers handled by Parlour’s all-female sommelier team led by Samantha Belt.

If wine isn’t your thing, Parlour will also have a healthy stock of classic cocktails with a contemporary twist, mirroring the heritage setting peeling plenty of character from neighbouring State Theatre and its past life as the iconic Gowings department store.
