Pullman Sydney Hyde Park embarks on unique collaboration with homegrown Matt Blatt Furniture

The fashionable Pullman Sydney Hyde Park teams up with equally fashionable Australian interiors and homewares brand Matt Blatt to create a unique Matt Blatt-themed suite.

Pullman Hotels and Resorts, hotel group Accor‘s higher-end hotels, offers mostly business travellers and visitors a combination of efficiency and wellness. Pullman has over 108 hotels and resorts in 31 countries. It is known for its focus on innovative design.

Matt Blatt began as a small furniture store run by a husband and wife team out of Marrickville, Sydney. They’ve since grown to over “150 design-obsessed renegades” (their own words), and now manage 8 showrooms nationwide, as well as a thriving online presence. Their parntership with Pullman Sydney Hyde Park further cements the dedication both parties share for inspirational, iconic and unconventional interior design.

Guests staying in the Matt Blatt Suite, once known as Pullman’s Premiere Suite, are given a designated check-in and a pre-arrival experience. The design of the suite was inspired by Pullman Sydney Hyde Park‘s location near the leafy park it takes its name from, as well as the Cuban jungle. The suite is located on the hotel’s 20th floor, designed to transport guests away from the busy city below.

Featuring pops of bold colour and quirky prints, animal paraphernalia and lux soft furnishings, the Matt Blatt Suite‘s interiors are also available for purchase. Quirky statement pieces in the room from Matt Blatt’s collection include the Teak Monkeys and Starsky The Hen, while pieces that evoke comfort include the Contour lounge chair and Big Apple three seater sofa. In addition to this, brightly coloured walls display portraits from the Matt Blatt fur baby collection, giving the suite an extra dimension of homeliness. The suite is also one of the first to feature the Methven Aurajet, a halo-shaped shower head with individual jets of water, producing luxuriously ample water pressure.

Matt Blatt designer, Ehren Ozimek, says “We are excited to debut our first-ever one-of-a-kind Matt Blatt Suite at Pullman Sydney Hyde Park … the space showcases Matt Blatt’s diverse range of quirky wares, designed to stimulate and inspire the senses for a truly immersive experience. We hope that Pullman Sydney Hyde Park guests enjoy the space and have fun exploring all the suite has to offer.”

The Matt Blatt Suite also features a Samsung LED SMART TV (with Netflix), iPad Mini and the Phillips Hue 2.0 Lighting System, used for guests who want to use lighting to wake them up in the morning, and then dim them when winding down. These are controlled via the in-suite iPad or by Siri voice control.
