P&O Cruises sets sight on Dark Mofo and Australian Open with new 2017-18 program

Been to Dark Mofo in Hobart before? If that’s a no, then just know that the annual winter solstice festival is sensory overload of oddities and experimental arts that’s unlike anything Australia has on its stacked events calendar. Each June, when the 11-day festival consumes Hobart with music, art, noise, food, light, film, and events, many across Australia look for new ways to head on down way, way south and luckily P&O Cruises have decided to put themselves forth as a very attractive option.

The renowned cruise ship have announced a special Dark Mofo cruise to begin next year on the Pacific Jewel, offering a six-night program which will see travelers spend three days in Hobart to soak up the festival’s unique, fiery atmosphere. The program also includes entry to Tasmania’s essential Museum of Old and New Art (Mona), which is know a world renowned spectacle and is the driving force behind Dark Mofo (and its summer sister festival MONA FOMA)

Tickets for next year’s Dark Mofo cruise will be available from 17th May 2016 from $599 per person quad share. It’ll be one of the headliners of P&O’s latest program update for 2017-18, which will bring in a new range of itineraries and special cruises.

Other additions to the 2017-2018 program include P&O’s first ever tennis double, which will see both Pacific Aria and Pacific Pearl offer roundtrip cruises from Sydney to Melbourne’s popular Australian Open tennis championships with a five-night cruise departing 17th January, 2018, priced at $799 per person quad share.

Also in 2018, Pacific Eden will head south from Brisbane on a six-night roundtrip Australia Day cruise to pull up on Sydney Harbour for the January 26th celebrations in addition to stops at Newcastle and Moreton Island. This cruise will be priced at $1099 per person quad share.

P&O are currently expanding their presence in Western Australia with a total of four more cruises in 2017 including its first ever four-night seabreak to Exmouth from Fremantle on the Pacific Eden, priced at $649 per person quad share, and departing on 26th June 2017. Other extra short break options out west include a four-night program from Fremantle to Busselton, gateway to the famed Margaret River, and a three-night weekend comedy cruise. Though the biggest addition will be a spectacular 10-night cruise along the Western Australia coast, including scenic cruising through the Kimberley and visits to Broome, Exmouth, and Geraldton on a Pacific Eden cruise departing Fremantle on 12th June 2017, priced from $1429 per person quad share.

All cruises as part of the new program update will be on sale on May 17th of this year. For more information and bookings head to pocruises.com.au or call them on 13 24 94.
