Peter Manettas Seafood is Sydney’s first fully interactive online fish market

Purchasing freshly prepared seafood just got a whole lot easier for Sydneysiders. Digital service Peter Manettas Seafood has brought the city it’s first truly interactive online fish market with the aim of creating greater and more convenient access to over 120 different seafood products, all of which are sourced directly from the Sydney Fish Market morning auction (which is an auction open exclusively to industry) as well as Australian suppliers and the local fishing community.

Peter Manettas, a third-generation seafood seller, has been traveling to and from the Sydney Fish Market since childhood, hanging out with his grandfather (of the same name) as well his his father Nick’s seafood restaurant – the well-established Nick’s Seafood. The recent launch of his online service comes after months of conversations with farmers and fisherman across the country, offering a new way for Sydneysiders to source high quality seafood.

The demand has most certainly come flooding in as the online service has been met with unexpectedly high levels of orders, almost immediately after launching. As Broadsheet report, Peter’s service received 150 orders on launch day, and 500 for the rest of that week.

All produce will be delivered directly to the customer’s door, bringing in an unprecedented level of access to a wide variety of seafood normally reserved for the city’s top restaurants.

“For many food fanatics, it’s been a challenge to find a conveniently located fish-monger or market that offers great quality and incredible fresh fish and seafood”, said Peter. “At Peter Manettas Seafood we are committed to sourcing the freshest seafood for people in Sydney and the greater surrounds”.

The website has a custom platform to deliver users an authentic fish market experience while they select produce from an extensive range, with the additional option of tailoring their chosen products to meet specific cooking needs. There’s also the option of weekly seafood mixed boxes which include an assortment of fresh seasonal fish and seafood, as well as a range of live seafood deliveries “for the adventurous chefs among us”.

“For ease of ordering, customers can either select the number of individual pieces they would like, as well as having the ability to understand how many prawns they will get to the kilo,” says Manettas. “We also offer completely customisable processing for all orders places. Depending on the type of fish of seafood you order, you will have the ability to have it filleted, portioned, or even cut into cutlets. You prawns can be peeled and deveined in different ways and your huge green prawns can be butterflied ready to cook; the choice is ultimately yours.”

“The Peter Manettas Seafood team all have extensive industry experience. All products are handpicked each morning and prepared by our team of experts, then delivered to your door within your selected delivery window. All orders are picked, processed and delivered with the highest standards for maximum quality and freshness.”
