Over 100 events planned for Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane during World Class Cocktail Week

Returning for another year of boozy, balanced and innovative fun, World Class Cocktail Week is bringing over 100 experiences to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, spread across seven days with some of the country’s finest bartenders and chefs getting involved. A range of masterclasses, tasting events and tutorials will be spread through the three cities, underlining some of the leading bars and restaurants that are driving the continual evolution of Australia’s cocktail scene.

Starting from 7th May and lasting through to 13th May, the program is promising to be one of the event’s most exciting to date, touting creative and interesting ways to enjoy cocktail culture. Sydney’s program, for example, will have one event anchored opposite Bondi Beach as three of the famous neighbourhood’s most popular venues – Neighbourhood, Drake and Milky Lane – link up for a three-course roaming dinner, with each dish served with a matching cocktail. Furthermore, awarded bar This Must Be The Place will be presenting a multiple course menu reflecting the minds of the bar team; The Wild River will be doing up artisan gelato paired with Scotch Whisky; Longrain will serve a specially created banquet matched with inventive Asian-inspired cocktails; and Italian favourite Maybe Frank will be pushing a Happy Hour that features a range of apertivo, mortadella and meatball specials.

For the city of Melbourne, there’ll be 40+ bespoke experiences to get across, including a journey through the world of whisky at 1806, a luxury cruise with a three-course feast created by Vaporetto Bar & Eatery, and a five-course meal matched with cocktails at Hochi Mama. A sure-shot highlight will be the masterclass at Bad Frankie, where attendees will be shown creative ways to use native Australian ingredients in cocktails.

Then you’ve got Brisbane, where Pony Dining will be tasking discerning drinkers with selecting their own botanicals to create their dream G&T, The Bowery will offer a specially made cocktail menu from some of the city’s finest bartenders, and a stop by Buffalo Bar brings a chance to pair American reuben sandwiches with World Class Boilermaker cocktails.

World Class Cocktail Week is also providing a platform for a little switcharoo between two of the country’s most renowned bars; the teams from Melbourne’s Black Pearl and Sydney’s Bulletin Place will be swapping places for a two-night residency that will build upon the already tight bond and history the two bar’s share.
