NYCxDESIGN returns to New York City this May for their fourth annual celebration of design

NYC & Company along with New York City officials have announced the annual NYCxDESIGN the citywide celebration of design, will be held from May 3 – 17 2016.

Hosted at venues throughout New York City NYCxDESIGN focuses on commerce, culture, education and entertainment with events encompassing exhibitions, installations, trade shows, talks, launches and open studios.

The New York City Council has invested $100,000 into NYCxDESIGN in the hopes it will bring even more visitors to experience the art and design the city has to offer.

“This citywide program celebrates the cutting-edge designers, artists, and entrepreneurs who contribute so much New York City’s place at the forefront of global innovation,” said Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito.

President and CEO of NYC & Company Fred Dixon, believes that New York City is the ultimate place to host the 2 week event.
“NYC’s citywide celebration of design has grown tremendously, cementing the City’s place as a global design capital,” he said, “there could be no better backdrop than New York City, a hub of creativity and innovation, to stage the fourth annual NYCxDESIGN.”

Last year’s NYCxDesign featured 564 events at 228 locations with many participants returning again.
