Neil Perry’s Eleven Bridge to close in May; announces special farewell menus (Sydney)

It was big news last year when world renowned chef Neil Perry announced the closure of his beloved Rockpool Est. 1989 at 11 Bridge St, Sydney. The shock came about as a need for something closer to casual emerged, which gave way to Eleven Bridge. Now even that’s set to close this coming May, with Perry and his Rockpool Dining Group planning a new dining concept to open at the side by the middle of this year.

With Rockpool Dining Group bringing the Eleven Bridge site into their portfolio, Perry aims to end Eleven Bridge’s short lifespan on a “culinary high” with Executive chef Phil Wood. Together they will be presenting tasting menus of classic dishes from Eleven Bridge and Rockpool in celebration of Perry’s 28-year history with the location.

“The team is really excited about going out on such a high by creating all the great three-hat dishes, past and present”, offered Perry. “Rockpool Dining Group operates a tight-knit family of quality restaurants and great brands with maximum efficiency and it makes sense to operate the Eleven Bridge site within this portfolio, rather than as a standalone restaurant”.

Reportedly, the new restaurant to open at 11 Bridge St will be serving traditional Cantonese food, headed by Eleven Bridge’s sous chef Peter Robertson, as well as Spice Temple executive chef Andy Evans and Perry himself.

Eleven Bridge has called last served for Saturday 13th May. For more information and to keep up to date the site head to their website HERE.
