Melbourne to host world’s first espresso martini festival in November

Just when you thought Sydney getting a bar dedicated to espresso martinis was the peak of Australia’s obsession with caffeinated cocktails, Mr Black Spirits Co have revealed that they are bringing the world’s first espresso martini festival at Melbourne’s Meat Market come November.

The Mr Black Festival of the Espresso Martini will be taking over the city’s Meat Market on Saturday 5th November, bringing exclusive creations from some of the country’s best roasters, bars, and coffee shops which will all be showcasing their own take on the legendary cocktail, so expect caffeine hits from the likes of MILKLAB, Ketel One, Campos Coffee (of course), Rushmore Coffee, The Kind Coffee Co, Beats Coffee, and Two Birds Brewing.

“We know the people of Melbourne have a love affair with coffee”, said Mr Black founder Tom Baker. The espresso martini is now one of the highest selling cocktails on lists everywhere so we thought, why not come together to celebrate this shared love with the perfect pairing of coffee and booze”.

Food trucks will be on hand to give guests something to feast on while music and “coffee pong” has also been promised to make a full day of it, with entry set at $25pp, all tickets including a Mr Black Coffee Liqueur shaken serve, free tastings, and more to be announced.
