McWilliam’s Wines highlight cool climate with new McW range

Highly awarded NSW-based McWilliam’s Wines have introduced a new range to their extensive family, titling it the “McW” range and pushing it into the market as a sub-brand based on the integral relationship between the land, the climate and the winemaker. Placing the focus upon the elegance and intensity of the high altitude, cool climate regions that are characteristic of NSW, the range introduces the McW 480 and 660 Reserve series, each taking its name from the respective altitude that the grapes are ripened at.

The McW 480 so far includes the Tumbarumba Sauvignon Blanc, Hilltops Shiraz and Tumbarumba Pinot Grigio, all harvested from vines grown at an average of 480 metres above sea level, elevated by a distinctive cool climate for generous, sophisticated profiles to make them ideal for food-pairing.

On the other hand you’ve got the McW 660 Reserve range, lifting the spotlight towards higher altitude, medium-bodied wines. The grapes have – you guess it – been harvested from vines grown at an average of 660 metres above sea level, the longer growing season allowing those really big, rich flavours to develop slowly and to full maturity. This range includes the Tumbarumba Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Hilltops Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz and a Canberra Syrah.
