Manly locals sure are spoiled when it comes to quintessential drinking spots. They’ve got Four Pines, which remains a favourite, and now just a short stroll down from the wharf is Manly Spirits Co., the Northern Beaches very first artisan distillery. Just opened recently for public tours, tastings and cocktails, the distillery aims to welcome in Manly’s famously breezy blend beach and urban life with casual sessions highlighting their various products, including a new range that showcases sustainably sourced native botanicals and foraged marine botanicals.
From Wed-Sun, the distillery will be open for people to visit the on-site tasting bar where people will find the likes of the team’s premium spirits like Australian Dry Gin, Marine Botanical Vodka, Terra Firma Botanical Vodka, and North Fort White Dog Malt Spirit. Exclusive distillery expressions will also be available, which should make a good drink or two on those 45-minute behind-the-scenes tours with the Head Distiller.
“We are thrilled to welcome guests to the Manly Spirits Co. Distillery Tasting Bar and encourage guests to start with a tour, stay for a taste and come back for another sip”, said co-founder and marketing manager Vanessa Wilton. “We are the first artisan distillery on the northern shores of Sydney Harbour and are thrilled that we can host such a unique experience for locals and visitors”.
Whisky enthusiasts should be jumping all over this one to. The team are in the process of laying down casks of their cornerstone single malt whisky range, North Fort, for release from 2019. That means now the public have the chance to purchase their very own cask of maturing whisky, where they will work with the distilling team to craft and bottle the special batch before launch.
