It’s official: a Jack Daniels and Coke is now called a “Lemmy” in honour of Ian “Lemmy” Kilmister

The American spirits industry and Jack Daniels have clearly been paying attention the change.org lately. With the tragic, recent passing of Motorhead frontgod Ian “Lemmy” Kilmister, an overwhelming amount of signatures came rushing through to a petition asking JD to officially re-name Lemmy’s favourite drink as a tribute to the rock legend. Now, the authoritative Food & Beverage Magazine have officially deemed that a JD and coke shall henceforth be referred to as The “Lemmy”.

Lemmy has been makig this classic mix famous for years, first on the Sunset Strip at the Rainbow Bar and Grill and then on a world scale as Motorhead remained one of the most revered heavy metal bands in the world.

In the latest issue of Food & Beverage Magazine, publisher Michael Politz writes: “We are honored to represent the industry and bring the moniker The Lemmy to every bar in the world! “Owning a rock club with Anthrax’s Scott Ian and Alice in Chains’ Jerry Cantrell gave me the chance to meet Lemmy and experience his legend myself.”

The official “Lemmy” contains 2 ounces of Jack, 10 ounces of Coke, and bitters, garnished with a lemon peel. Something tells us Lemmy just liked to keep it simple without the bitters or lemon peel, but hey, whatever
