Hotel Review: SIXTY Beverly Hills (Los Angeles, CA) is contemporary elegance from lobby to rooftop

It shows how delicious a hotel is when even after a 15 hour flight you crave exploring its ins and outs instead of falling into the comfort of their beds. SIXTY Beverly Hills combines contemporary glamour with Los Angeles exclusivity.

Glass, wood and marble detailing meets you as soon as you step into the foyer, and will travel with you through and into your room. These textures are not overwhelming, but instead are the modern, sophisticated elegance you associate with Beverly Hills.

Through smoked glass and past modern artworks, we were led into to our Double Deluxe room.

The hallways are artistic sophistication.

Two full sized beds with custom made 400-thread count Sferra linens seduced and teased us with the comfort that was to come. But first, the rest of the serenity had to be explored.

Ebonized hardwood floors met the edge of the rug below the beds and formed a runway that led towards the windows, and out onto a step-out French balcony that overlooked Beverly Hills. Near silent sliding doors further complemented the luxury of the room as you walked out into the 25 degree heat and noise of Los Angeles (that was immediately silenced once the door was closed).

A 55-inch LCD TV hugged the wall opposite the beds and below mirrored pillars on the ceiling.

Marble opulence was the desire behind the planning on these bathrooms. Black and white large streaked marble tiles filled the bathroom, as small white marble squared tiles created a feature wall behind a large mirror and white marble basin.

An over-sized Terrycloth robe by Sferra hung from one wall with an embroidered SIXTY logo (an extra one was hung in the wardrobe space outside the bathroom).

Above SIXTY Beverly Hills is, well, ‘Above SIXTY Beverly Hills’ – an exclusive rooftop terrace that serves small bites, specialty cocktails, beer, wine and full meals to all hotel guests and SIXTY Hotels VIPs. Here we drank a delightful Strawberry Smash cocktail and a local Napa Valley red wine as the sun set before walking above the bar to see the rooftop pool.

Tonight around the pool, a movie screening of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory brought the hotel guests out to lounge around the pool, soak in the sunset and decompress over cocktails.

It was pure pleasure, relaxation and contemporary elegance from the ground floor to the rooftop.
